Don’t fall
for it. Times will be bad but your
judgment must be good. If someone says
that they know where the Christ is hanging out, don’t go there. Don’t go to a room or to the wilderness. It’s deception and you must not fall for it.
When the Son
of Man comes, it will be a know it when you see it sort of event. It will be visible to all. For some it will be a time of rejoicing. Others will mourn even more because they
rejected him.
There will
be great distress in the world, but until the sun is darkened and the moon
gives no light at all, there is more to come.
But when these cosmic events take place, you will know that the time has
come for the Son of Man—Christ Jesus—to come and claim his own.
The sign of
the Son of Man will be visible when the heavenly bodies have quit their
jobs. What is the sign? Probably light, but again, it should be a know-it when you see it sort of event.
Then, the Son
of Man will come on the clouds with great power and glory. At the command of the trumpet,
he will send his angels to gather the elect from all over the planet and
wherever else they might be. So if you
have a relative that is an astronaut on the space station or on his way to
Mars, they won’t be left out.
If you are
living as his disciple, you will know when the time is near—very near. This section concludes with words of
assurance.
Heaven and
earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
No matter
what is going on around you, trust in God’s words. Trust in the Lord with all of your
heart. Don’t be deceived. Don’t be discouraged. Don’t be alarmed, but be ready. Hang in there
to the end by following the words of our Lord.
He is coming
for you.
Don’t be
alarmed.
Don’t be
deceived.
Be ready.
He is coming
for you!
